Two dead after Gardiner motorcycle crash

GARDINER, Maine (WGAN) Police say two people were killed when the motorcycle they were riding crashed head-on into an SUV Sunday night in Gardiner.

Police identified the victims as 22-year-old Anthony Fournier of Sabattus and 24-year-old Kristin Doughty of Winthrop.

The two were traveling on Water Street when the bike veered into the path of the oncoming vehicle.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fournier was driving the motorcycle. Doughty was the passenger. Police said neither were wearing a helmet.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital, but police had no information on the extent of that person’s injuries.
