A Windham man was killed during Monday’s rain and wind storm when a tree fell on him.

Police say they responded to the call at a home on Vance Drive around 12:30 Monday afternoon. After part of a tree had already gone through the home, police say the man went up on the roof to try to remove debris. That’s when another part of a tree came down and struck him.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Troy Olsen. Police said Olsen died instantly.

Windham Police Chief Kevin Schofield called the death tragic. He encouraged everyone to do the best they can to stay indoors and off the roads.
